Luca De Marchi has started working with Bramaterra relatively late, but I feel his bottling is now cruising at the same high altitude as his classic Lessona. With its bright ruby colour, high acidity that really tastes of cool climate, and firm, grainy tannins, it is very authentic, traditional in a backward, ungiving way, although the sweet ripe fruit is there, too. Just released now, this will give more pleasure in two years.

The 2018 is done in a pretty forward style for the appellation, with plenty of upfront fruit and a bit of oak, but retains the stylistic classicism that is so characteristic here. Readers will have a hard time keeping their hands off this jewel of a wine.
